Twelve individuals were arrested in two separate police operations over the weekend in Negros Occidental, after they were caught allegedly engaged in illegal cockfighting activities.

The Bago City Police Station arrested eight individuals at 2:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 13.

Recovered were six fighting game fowls, gaff and P460 bet money from the suspects.

Meanwhile, in Hinoba-an town, the local police apprehended four residents for allegedly being involved in illegal cockfighting conducted in Barangay Bacuyangan at 1:20 p.m.

A P520 cash and three fighting cocks were confiscated from the suspects.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449./MS, WDJ
