A man was found dead in a vacant lot at Barangay San Isidro in Negros Occidental’s Toboso town on Monday morning, May 8.
Police identified the victim as 37-year-old Marvin Encarguez of the village’s Sitio Mansulao.
Encarguez succumbed to wounds on his body, police said.
Toboso police chief, Major Jun Ray Batadlan, said the victim allegedly had a love interest in the suspect’s wife.
“Upod sila inom. Ang victim nagpauli na ina siya, pero nagbalik kay plano ‘ya gali garit-gariton ang asawa sang suspek kay kursunada niya,” Batadlan said.
The suspect was identified as James Barredo of Manapla town.
According to Batadlan, the suspect discovered that Encarguez liked his wife, the reason why he allegedly chased and attacked the victim.
The suspect is at large, police said./WDJ
