Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director, Police Colonel Noel Aliño strongly believes the persons, whose dumped bodies were recovered in the city’s Cabug and Felisa villages, were killed somewhere else.
According to Aliño, the 10 city police station commanders said they do not have reports of missing persons in their respective areas of operations.
However, he said he was not satisfied with the police reports he received.
He ordered the station commanders to coordinate with barangay officials to issue a certification that there are no missing persons reported in their area.
Meanwhile, as part of efforts to stop the incidents of body dumping in the city, Aliño said they have received orders from Western Visayas Police Regional Office director, Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco, requiring them to have a high degree of alertness, readiness and preparedness in line with the city’s security.
Aliño said they will intensify their anti-criminality operations and he ordered his police commanders to increase visibility and conduct mobile and foot patrols in their respective jurisdictions, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Police have also begun regular inspection of all of the open drainage systems along the Bacolod Economic Highway.
Earlier, the BCPO also announced that it will create a special task force to investigate the dumping of human remains and severed body parts.
The city police are also not ruling out the possibility that a vigilante group may be operating in the metro./DGB, WDJ
