A 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing game fowls in Negros Occidental’s Pontevedra town.
Police arrested laborer Mark Vallejo, a resident of Barangay Tampalon in the province’s Kabankalan City.
Lorenzo Atienza, 50 years old, a resident of the town’s Barangay San Juan, reported to village chief Edwin Lamela that his fighting cocks were stolen on Monday morning, May 1.
San Juan chief Noemi Camacho informed Lamela that she saw an unidentified person allegedly hiding game fowls inside an abandoned nipa hut.
Lamela and barangay officials arrested Vallejo inside the hut.
Three fighting cocks were recovered.
The suspect was taken to the police station for custody./MS, WDJ
