A 59-year-old man was stabbed dead in Negros Occidental’s Himamaylan City on Sunday night, April 30.

Herman Gayares of the city’s Barangay Su-ay succumbed to a stab wound on his back.

Police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Gary Pechora, also of the said village.

Police said Gayares and his family were surprised when somebody stoned their house several times.

He and his son, Earl John, went outside of their house and saw Pechora.

They decided to ask the suspect what his problem was all about.

The suspect suddenly chased and stabbed Gayares with an unknown bladed weapon, police said.

Pechora is in the custody of the local police station./MS, WDJ
