Two decomposing remains were recovered from a drainage system along the Economic Highway at Hacienda Sayson in Bacolod City’s Barangay Felisa late Sunday afternoon, April 30.
Police have yet to identify the remains.
Police Station 10 commander, Major Richard Fajarito, said one of the remains is in an early state of decomposition, while the other has been reduced to skeletal remains.
The human remains were still wearing clothes, while the decomposing one was naked.
Fajarito believes their killings may have taken place somewhere else.
The suspects only dumped the bodies, side by side, deep in the drainage system, he said.
He also noted that the pattern of how the remains were dumped is similar to the separate incidents in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town last month.
Meanwhile, the families of the abducted individuals in Hinigaran town on April 19 also went to the police station upon the recovery of the remains.
However, the families were unsure of the identities of the recovered bodies.
Fajarito said they will conduct a deoxyribonucleic acid test on the remains for identification.
He pointed out that the remains would immediately be buried if no one claims them./DGB, WDJ
