There were no illegal drugs recovered after a routine shakedown or “greyhound” operation at the San Carlos City District Jail in Negros Occidental on Friday morning, April 28.
The operation was conducted by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Negros Occidental, and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
At around 9:00 a.m., the district jail guards led the inmates to the facility’s open area.
PDEA operatives, along with their K-9 units, then entered the jail’s cell blocks for a thorough search, which later turned out negative for any illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, 40 inmates and 32 jail guards underwent random drug testing, which also yielded negative results./DGB, WDJ
