A head-on collision between a sports utility vehicle and a public utility jeepney left one person dead at Barangay Salvacion in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town late Tuesday night, April 25.
Police identified the fatality as 30-year-old jeepney driver Samuel Olimpo, a resident of Purok Kalubihan in the town’s Barangay Alegria.
The injured were identified as 27-year-old Karl Seith Ong, a resident of Bacolod City’s Barangay Estefania; and his passenger, 24-year-old Vira Taborada.
Police Major Marc Joel Reclamado, Murcia municipal police chief, said Ong was heading to the town proper when Olimpo’s jeepney took the opposite lane, which caused the collision.
Olimpo was rushed to a hospital in Bacolod, but he passed away./DGB, WDJ
