A fried chicken vendor was arrested after he allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl.

Police arrested the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Randy Visañes of Leyte province’s Ormoc City, temporarily residing in the city’s Barangay 40, on Monday, April 17.

Based on information released by police, the incident happened on April 15.

Visañes immediately fled to Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City after the incident.

However, upon returning to Bacolod on Monday, he was immediately arrested by police.

The suspect had already admitted to committing the crime and was remorseful for his actions.

He is currently detained at Police Station 6.
