A three-year-old girl died in a road mishap along Circumferential Road in Bacolod City’s Barangay Villamonte yesterday morning, April 18.

Bacolod City Police Station 4 chief, Police Captain Greeky Cayao, said the victims — the couple, 30-year-old Jude Jett Areglo and 23-year-old Sheila Mae Niem, and their daughter — were riding a motorcycle heading south.

A 10-wheeler truck driven by Jemmy Panes of Barangay 9 in Negros Occidental’s Victorias City was following them.

The truck hit the motorcycle, which stopped as the traffic light turned red.

Due to the strong impact, the victims fell from the motorcycle, and their daughter was run over by the truck, which caused her death.

The couple sustained minor injuries.

Panes is now in the custody of Bacolod City Police Station 4./WDJ
