The police personnel, whose name was listed on a recovered piece of paper with another severed human hand in Bacolod City’s Barangay Bata on Monday, April 17, was reassigned by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) yesterday.
The identified cop, Police Staff Sergeant Anthony Vistar, has been transferred to the BCPO headquarters.
Vistar was allowed to temporarily go on leave.
He was confirmed to be from Police Station 5’s Drug Enforcement Team.
Station commander, Police Captain Francis Depasucat said they are now conducting a parallel investigation and validation following the recovery of the severed human hand.
Depasucat said they will not tolerate police officers who are involved in illegal activities if the allegations against them are true.
However, he said it is possible that the allegations are purely made up to discredit the police force’s image.
Vistar has denied the allegations over the incident, he added.
The station commander said Vistar never had any notable background or involvement in any illegal activities.
The police personnel had already been serving the police force for 10 years.
The recovery of the chopped off human part is now the third incident to happen in Bacolod.
In January, a pair of severed hands was found inside an ice cream container with beef stew at Purok Kagaykay in the city’s Barangay 2.
It also has a piece of paper containing the names of several alleged drug suspects.
Last month, a pair of severed human feet was dumped beside a gasoline station along C.L. Montelibano Avenue in Barangay Villamonte./DGB, WDJ
