The mayor of Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City has decided to reimpose the mandatory wearing of face masks inside the city hall after two of their employees have tested positive for COVID-19.
Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr. said he made the decision on the mask requirement as he noticed city hall clients were no longer following simple health protocols.
Before an outbreak could take place, Escalante said face masks are now mandatory in all government offices in Cadiz.
The mayor revealed that the two employees positive for COVID-19 are department heads.
The Cadiz City Health Office has already conducted contact tracing.
Escalante also reminded city residents to remain cautious and to keep themselves healthy as COVID-19 remains prevalent./DGB, WDJ
