Barangay Mansilingan recorded the highest number of dengue cases in Bacolod City from January 1 to April 8.
Data from the City Health Office (CHO) showed Mansilingan logged 16 dengue cases, followed by barangays Granada and Pahanocoy (with eight each); Estefania, Cabug and Tangub (seven each); and Vista Alegre, Taculing, Mandalagan, and Singcang (six each).
CHO’s Environment Sanitation Division chief Grace Tan said one dengue death was recorded in Villamonte.
Tan said 121 cases were recorded this year, higher than last year’s 87 cases with three deaths logged in the same period.
The age group with the most number of cases is one to 10 years old, she added.
The CHO is encouraging city residents to execute the enhanced 4S dengue preventive measures: search and destroy mosquito breeding sites, secure self-protection measures, seek early consultation, and support fogging./MS, WDJ
