The Negros Occidental provincial government is eyeing holding weekend activities at the Capitol Park and Lagoon.
Provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said it is the passion of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson to make the capitol the center of cultural exchanges.
For now, Diaz said they are working with several music groups to hold jamming sessions at the park every Friday to Sunday.
“This is for the cultural development of our youth and we are developing talents by exposing them to the venue,” Diaz said.
He pointed out that those who attend jamming sessions are also developing their cultural awareness.
They would like the park to become a place where the Negrense culture could be experienced.
Diaz said some individuals even suggested that the park will host free movies related to the province’s history so that the Negrenses will know about their roots and to be proud of their identities.
