Bacolod City administrator Pacifico Maghari III is considering the proposal to assign elevator personnel of the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).

For almost two months, the elevator in the three-storey BCGC was under maintenance after it malfunctioned since February 10.

Maghari said that he would propose to Mayor Alfredo Benitez to assign elevator personnel to assist the public in case an incident happens again.

He also advised building administrator Amy Tentia to conduct regular monitoring and checkup of the elevator.

The city administrator explained that the elevator took months to become operational again because the spare parts needed for the repair were not available.

“Now it is already fixed and safe to ride,” Maghari said.

In February, two employees of a newspaper company were trapped inside the BCGC elevator for nearly an hour./MS, WDJ
