Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson admitted that the province has suffered setbacks with its implementation of the Universal Health Care Law (UHC).

According to Lacson, they need to accomplish numerous guidelines, especially on the hospital services, as part of the law’s implementation.

Lacson has ordered newly-installed Provincial Health Officer Dr. Girlie Pinongan to improve the implementation of the UHC in Negros Occidental.

Pinongan is also the concurrent hospital operations division chief.

The governor further stated that there are a lot of things to be done, but they are working on it.

He pointed out if they succeed, they can give a lot of benefits to the constituents.

“I am confident, that if we surpass this challenge, soon we will be able to raise the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay to Level 3,” Lacson said./DGB, WDJ
