Over P1-M of jewelry, cash stolen from bizman’s house

Over P1 million worth of jewelry, watches and cash were stolen by still unidentified suspects from the house of a businessman and former councilor of Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City on Saturday afternoon, April 1.

The suspects carted away 11 branded watches worth P264,000 from the house of 59-year-old Ray Yee at Purok Yee-on in the city’s Barangay Cabahug.

Assorted jewelry — bracelets worth P160,000; earrings worth P150,000; and necklaces amounting to P270,000 — were also stolen.

The robbers also took Yee’s passbook, seaman’s book, travel documents, and assorted identification cards and cash worth P285,000.

Cadiz police said the suspects forcibly entered the victim’s house by removing jalousies from the windows.

An investigation is ongoing./WDJ
