RJ Abarrientos was named the Rookie of the Year in the 2023 Korean Basketball League (KBL) after a successful first year campaign with the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis.

The Filipino import averaged 13.6 points, 1.4 steals and 4.8 assists to emerge as the top freshman in his batch.

With Abarrientos playing a key role for Ulsan, the squad racked up 34 wins and 20 losses to wind up fourth.

They are currently in the playoffs with the 23-year-old Abarrientos expected to help his team move forward.

Abarrientos is a former Far Eastern University talent who also suited up for Gilas Pilipinas. (GMA News)
