Construction works at the Panaad Park and Stadium are now in high gear ahead of the Panaad sa Negros Festival from April 17 to 23.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson affirmed that the works on some pavilions of the local government units (LGUs) are now being expedited.
“That is where our strength is. The LGUs also find ways to sponsor entertainment in their respective areas because they will also encourage their own constituents to come to Bacolod and join the festival,” Lacson said.
The governor also said they have already released subsidies for the participating LGUs amounting to P300,000 each.
Invitations have already been sent to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Vice President Sara Duterte and some senators.
The annual Panaad sa Negros Festival is dubbed the “Festival of all Festivals” in Negros Occidental.
All 31 participating LGUs will feature the best they could offer in culture, sports, food, and tourism.
The event would also be held for the first time following a three-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic./DGB, WDJ
