A mother and her son were shot dead by still unidentified motorcycle-riding individuals at Barangay Matab-ang’s Hacienda Ledesma in Negros Occidental’s Talisay City on Tuesday night, March 28.

The fatalities were identified as 50-year-old Shirley Española and her 28-year-old son Jason.

Wounded was her eight-year-old son, John David, who was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

According to Shirley’s husband, Jose Mars Española, his wife and sons were on their way home when they were shot by unknown suspects.

Unjust vexation and grave threats which were brought to court could be the possible motives in the incident, Española said.
