A senior citizen died after being hit by a motorcycle on Araneta Road in Bacolod City over the weekend.

Josefina Antipuesto, 85 years old, was crossing the highway as the motorcycle driver was tailing a group of motorcycles along the way, Police Staff Sergeant Celerino Arrollado, City Police Station 8 traffic investigator, said.

The driver possibly didn’t notice her as she crossed the dim portion of the road, Arrollado added.

Antipuesto was sent to the hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival.

The motorcycle driver sustained minor wounds.

He was detained at Police Station 8, but released after the 18-hour reglementary period./WDJ
