A man landed at the hospital after being stabbed by his drinking buddy at Barangay Zone 11 in Negros Occidental’s Talisay City on Sunday afternoon, March 26.

Police identified the victim as Leo Cabarles, 54 years old, of the village’s Purok Sampaguita, while the suspect was Romeo Escubido, 56 years old, a resident of Sitio Bat-os.

Talisay City police said the two were drinking when a commotion happened involving Cabarles’ uncle, Enrique Tajanlangit.

Cabarles tried to calm down Tajanlangit but Escubido stabbed Cabarles in the hand.

The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Escubido was arrested in a follow-up operation by police./DGB, WDJ
