A suspected marijuana plantation was discovered by police at Barangay Minuyan in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town yesterday morning.

Police arrested the 34-year-old Khieno Rubaton, a flower vendor and a resident of the village’s Purok Catugasan 1.

Murcia police chief, Major Marc Joeil Reclamado said 14 uprooted suspected marijuana plants; a sack containing suspected dried marijuana leaves with a combined weight of 125 grams and valued at P15,000; and improvised farming equipment were recovered from the suspect.

Rubaton is currently detained at the police station on drug-related charges./DGB, WDJ
