Truck fell on steep, 7 hurt

Seven people were wounded after a truck fell on a steep at Barangay Pandanon in Negros Occidental’s Don Salvador Benedicto town on Monday afternoon, March 20.

Police identified the injured as Robwell Barientos, 44 years old; Diego Trinidad, 22 years old; Marilyn Cosme, 52 years old; Mark Anthony Trinidad, 23 years old; and Junjun Cruz, 23 years old, all residents of Occidental Mindoro.

Other victims, Third Moncatar and Sabar Moncatar, were residents of Bacolod City.

Police Major Eugene Tolentino, municipal police chief, one of the victims, said that the truck was traveling from Bacolod to San Carlos, loaded with seven tons of onions.

But when the truck arrived in Purok Talos, the driver lost control, bumped the truck into railings and fell on the steep.

Three victims sustained severe injuries while the four had minor wounds./WDJ
