A man was wounded after he allegedly tried to shoot a responding operative from the 65th Philippine National Police-Special Action Force during a scuffle at Poblacion 2 in Negros Occidental’s Sagay City.
Police identified the suspect as Delmar Amparo, 18 years old, a resident of the village’s Purok Coscouela.
Police Captain Judesses Catalogo, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office spokesperson, said Police Staff Sergeant Melvin Latoza immediately responded to a brawl in the said village which was celebrating a fiesta.
Amparo allegedly went home to get a firearm and shot Latoza.
He managed to dodge the gunshots and in return he shot Amparo in the torso.
