A couple were arrested after they yielded an estimated P2,040,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Bacolod City’s Handumanan village, early Saturday morning, March 18.

Arrested were Maria Elirica Celis, 39 years old, and her live-in partner Carlo Purillo, 36 years old, both residents of the village’s Purok San Roque 1.

The operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit.

Police recovered a ziplock bag containing 12 sachets of suspected shabu, a sling bag and a coin purse.

The seized illicit substance had a combined weight of 300 grams.

Both suspects are currently detained at Police Station 10 on drug-related charges./DGB, WDJ
