The two suspects from Negros Occidental who were implicated in the murder of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo do not have any previous criminal records with the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO).
Police Captain Judesses Catalogo, NOCPPO spokesperson, said they have coordinated with law enforcement over the records of Joven Javier and Rickyvelle Luces following their arrests.
Catalogo said the police in La Castellana town, where Javier resides, have come up with empty records.
However, they receive information that Javier’s parents asked La Castellana town Mayor Rhumylla Manguilimutan for assistance.
Meanwhile, Silay City police also came back negative of any criminal records for Luces, who was a former resident of Hacienda Adela in the city’s Barangay Lantad.
The only record they were able to get was Luces’ previous affiliation with the Philippine Marine Corps.
Catalogo said they are digging deeper into the backgrounds of the two suspects./DGB, WDJ
