A senior citizen was found dead at Barangay Banquerohan in Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City, early yesterday morning.

Nelson Rocabert, 60 years old, a resident of the village’s Hacienda Sta. Cruz, was found dead in an open lot.

Based on information provided by a resident to police, a few hours before the discovery of Rocabert’s remains, they heard a series of gunshots in the area.

At 4:30 a.m., one of the residents, who was on his way to work, found the victim’s remains beside a banana tree.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the incident./DGB, WDJ
