A high-value drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation at Barangay 2 in Negros Occidental’s Kabankalan City on Tuesday morning, March 7.
Operatives identified the arrested as 39-year-old Genebert Laurico “Gamay” Taco, a resident of Barangay 8 in the said city.
Based on information released by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Negros Occidental, they arrested Taco after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover operative.
A follow-up search yielded a total of 15 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P102,000.
Taco is facing charges related to Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He is currently detained at the Kabankalan City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
