Negros Occidental provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz revealed yesterday that the Panaad sa Negros 2023 launch will be next Tuesday, March 14.
According to Diaz, the launch will be either at the Provincial Capitol Lagoon and Park or at the Social Hall in the Provincial Capitol Building.
“It will be a fun-filled launch as everyone in the province is excited,” he said.
During the launching, the festival’s official logo, theme and music will also be presented.
The event will also include the official sashing of the candidates of the “Lin-ay sang Negros.”
Previously, the official launching was scheduled last month, although officials later decided to move the schedule to give enough time for the provincial government to reveal the festival’s official logo and music.
Under Executive Order No. 23-04-A, an organizing committee would be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, coordination, and supervision of all programs and activities during the festival.
Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena was appointed festival director, while Engineer Jose Maria Amugod was named logistics head.
The annual Panaad sa Negros Festival is dubbed the “Festival of all Festivals” in Negros Occidental. All 31 participating local government units will feature the best they could offer in culture, sports, food, and tourism.
The event would also be held for the first time following a three-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic./DGB, WDJ
