A laborer was killed, while 11 others were injured in a fire at a poultry farm in Bacolod City’s Barangay Mansilingan on Saturday afternoon, March 4.

Authorities identified the fatality as 26-year-old Johnrel Esparagoza.

Based on information released by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Bacolod, they received a fire call at the Ta-ala Farms Inc. at the village’s Purok Kasilingan.

The fire only reached first alarm status and the blaze was fully doused at 2:07 p.m.

The damage due to the fire was estimated at P2.6 million, BFP-Bacolod said.

Meanwhile, 11 laborers suffered various injuries, such as minor burns, bone dislocation and minor lacerations.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze./DGB, WDJ
