A missing sugar factory employee was found dead at Hacienda Consejo in Negros Occidental’s La Carlota City on Friday, February 24.

Police identified the victim as 41-year-old Emidio Aries, a resident of the city’s Barangay Roberto S. Benedicto.

La Carlota City police chief, Lt. Colonel Lowell Garinganao said Aries’ remains, found beside his motorcycle near an irrigation canal of the sugarcane field, were already in a state of decomposition.

Garinganao later ruled out foul play, as the victim’s wallet and other valuables were still with him.

The police chief added it is possible that the victim may have crashed his motorcycle and died due to the injuries he had sustained.

Garinganao added that the victim’s family filed a blotter report at their station last week, stating that the victim had failed to return home since February 20./DGB, WDJ
