An agent of a business process outsourcing (BPO) company died after she was accidentally hit by a motorcycle on Araneta Street in Bacolod City’s Barangay Singcang-Airport late Wednesday night, February 22.

While crossing the pedestrian lane, Erlynor Colango, 28 years old, of Talisay City’s Barangay Cabatangan, was accidentally hit by a motorcycle driven by Rex Evrile Pedrajas, also an employee from another BPO company in the city, Police Station 8 traffic investigators said.

The force of the impact reportedly threw Colango several meters away.

Colango was rushed to the hospital but she was declared dead on arrival after sustaining severe head trauma.

Meanwhile, Pedrajas surrendered following the incident.

According to him, he was on his way to work and denied driving his motorcycle too fast.

Pedrajas also denied being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, and did not see Colango crossing the pedestrian lane.

The motorcycle driver is currently negotiating with the victim’s family to settle the accident./DGB, WDJ
