A barangay kagawad was shot dead at Barangay Cambayobo in Negros Occidental’s Calatrava town on Wednesday night, February 22.

Police identified the fatality as 61-year-old Benito Hubahib, a resident of the said place.

Police Captain Jesus Alba, Calatrava deputy police chief, said the armed men broke inside the victim’s house and shot him multiple times.

Hubahib was dead on the spot, police said.

Alba said they are still trying to determine the motive behind the murder and the identity of the armed men./DGB, WDJ
