An estimated P20 million worth of damage was left by a fire that broke out from a three-story commercial building at the corner of Locsin and Luzuriaga streets in Bacolod City’s Barangay 37 yesterday morning.
A report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Bacolod said the fire was controlled at 4:14 p.m., after it was reported at 8:33 a.m.
The blaze reached the second alarm, leaving two establishments in the building partially-damaged, the report added.
One of the fire brigade volunteers disclosed that the fire was noticed from the commercial building’s second floor, which served as stockrooms of dry goods and ready-to-wear clothes.
According to the BFP-Bacolod, they have to make a hole in the wall for them to penetrate inside the building.
Several fire volunteer groups in this city augmented with the BFP to help control the blaze.
There were no reported injuries or casualties in the said incident.
Meanwhile, the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office implemented a rerouting after several roads were temporarily closed in the areas near the fire incident./MS, WDJ
