The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office seized an estimated P4 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at Barangay 1 on Thursday night, February 9.
The seized narcotic is now the biggest for this year, after P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in Barangay 10 last February 4.
Police identified the arrested as 29-year-old Diony “Urag” Cabrillos and 22-year-old Eric Aguirre, both residents of the said place.
Based on information released by the CDEU, both suspects were tagged as high-value drug targets and had been placed under close surveillance for several weeks prior to the operation.
A subsequent search yielded 14 plastic sachets of suspected shabu with a combined weight of 600 grams and valued at P4,080,000.
Both suspects are detained at Police Station 2 and are facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./DGB, WDJ
