A backhoe suffered extensive damage after it was set on fire by still unidentified arsonists at Barangay Malingin in Negros Occidental’s Bago City on Saturday night, February 4.

The heavy equipment was owned by businessman Jorge Sian, a resident of Bacolod City’s Barangay Mandalagan, police said.

Investigators report that the incident took place at around 8:00 p.m., when a caretaker called police stating that the backhoe was on fire.

The caretaker said they had not received any threats prior to the incident.
