IN NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, BACOLOD: Newly-registered voters breach 56-K mark

The number of new voters in Negros Occidental and its capital Bacolod City has breached the 56,000 mark as voter registration ended on Tuesday, January 31.

Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Negros Occidental supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria said the province has a total of 56,723 newly-registered voters, wherein 28,166 are males and 28,557 are females.

Bacolod City still has the highest number of new registrants among local government units in the province at 13,792, the Comelec-Negros Occidental said.

Meanwhile, 13,789 individuals aged 15 to 17 have registered for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.
