The Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital (AEMSMDH) in Negros Occidental’s Sagay City has resumed its acceptance of patients, after it was temporarily suspended due to reaching its maximum capacity.
In a new post on their social media page, the hospital management informed the public that they will follow proper screening procedures prior to either accepting patients or referring to other government-run hospitals.
The hospital has a maximum capacity of 70 beds, and most of the patients that were admitted during the temporary suspension were those suffering from flu, pneumonia and gastroenteritis.
Earlier, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson reached out to the AEMSMDH’s management and said they should also coordinate with the provincial government as to their other needs, even though the hospital is under the jurisdiction of the Sagay city government.
Aside from AEMSMDH, the other local government unit-run hospitals in the province are the Calatrava District Hospital in Calatrava town, and the Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City.
