The Bacolod City-native Belangel tallied 22 points, including four three-point conversions, to go with five assists and four rebounds in 47 minutes of action as the Pegasus dropped to 13-21.
Belangel, a former standout of Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, had a chance to send the match to another overtime, but he missed on a two-point attempt with three seconds left in the game.
Seonhyung Kim led the way with 47 points, including four triples, Jamil Wonney had double-double 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Junyong Choi, Jaehyun Oh and Seongwon Choi had 13, 12 and 10, respectively, as the Knights improved to 20-14.
Daesung Lee top-scored for the Pegasus with 30 points, Jeong Hyo-Geun and Daeheon Lee added 19 and 16 markers, respectively, former PBA import Devon Scott had 11 markers, while Murphy Holloway had double-double 10 points and 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ethan Alvano and the Wonju DB Promy stretched their winning streak to four games as they edged Calvin Epistola and the Jeonju KCC Egis, 89-73, at the Wonju Sports Complex.
Alvano, a former member of San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League, top-scored with 15 points, to go with four assists and three rebounds, as the Promy moved up to 16-20.
Epistola returned from a one-game absence, but managed to only contribute five points, on 2-of-5 shooting, to go with four assists in 22 minutes as the Egis dropped to 16-19.
Justin Gutang and Changwon LG Sakers (21-13) hacked out a stunning 68-63 victory over the Rhenz Abando-less Anyang KGC Ginseng Corporation (23-11) at the Changwon Gymnasium.
Gutang, a former College of St. Benilde Blazers guard, managed just two points, on 1-of-3 shooting, to go with three rebounds, but it hardly mattered as Kwanhee Lee and Assem Marei tallied 13 and 12 markers, respectively, for the Sakers./ASC, WDJ
