A motorcycle rider died while two others were injured after two trucks and two motorcycles collided along Barangay Cabahug’s Crossing Bagong Dalan in Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City on Wednesday afternoon, January 25.
Police identified the fatality as 31-year-old Arlo Galleron, a resident of the city’s Barangay Luna.
Injured were 30-year-old Roger Decanay, a resident of Bacolod City, and 53-year-old Joseph Coniendo of Sagay City.
Cadiz City deputy police chief Lt. Gina Fernandez said a cargo truck driven by 42-year-old Arturo Pateno along with Coniendo’s dump truck were heading northbound when Pateno accidentally hit the truck.
Coniendo then lost control of his truck and he overshot in the southbound lane and hit the motorcycles of Galleron and Decanay before finally coming to a stop.
Meanwhile, Pateno’s cargo truck continued for another few meters before finally coming to a stop hitting a parked tricycle.
Coniendo, Galleron and Decanay were immediately rushed to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic.
Galleron was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician./DGB, WDJ
