BCPO seizes P94.4-M illegal drugs in 2022

A total of P94.4 million worth of illegal drugs was seized in 2022, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported on Friday, January 20.

Based on the BCPO’s records from January to December of last year, they have seized a total of 13,890.44 grams of illegal drugs with a market value of P94,454,992.

At least 511 police operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 538 drug personalities, including 38 tagged as high-value individuals, and six minors, the report said.

Around 811 criminal charges related to the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were also filed, it added.

Meanwhile, the BCPO also said they have conducted a total of 703 police operations targeting wanted persons.

A total of 179 individuals tagged as most wanted persons were arrested, while 489 were tagged as other wanted individuals.

The BCPO also conducted 167 operations targeting loose firearms in 2022, which yielded 158 home-made and small firearms and explosives, wherein 42 were deposited to the BCPO as part of the Philippine National Police’s Oplan: Katok./DGB, WDJ
