Around P10 million fund was extended to 20 villages in the towns of Calatrava and Don Salvador Benedicto in Negros Occidental to improve their nutrition programs for children.
Provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said yesterday that, in general, the province has recorded an improvement in the nutritional status among children aged one to five years old.
Diaz pointed out that this is the result of its meeting with Negros Occidental Nutrition Alliance in December of last year.
He said they want to validate the concerns of the localities in addressing their nutrition issues.
“Initially, 20 barangays were identified to avail barangay-based nutrition programs,” Diaz said.
“We are about to come up with an orientation with the barangays and tell them what are the expectations, what are the parameters of these funds,” he added./DGB, WDJ
