Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said yesterday that the delayed transfer of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Bacolod to its new site in the city’s Barangay Mansilingan is due to the lack of support from the national government.
Lacson said the new building has already been completed and they are also the ones providing the furniture for the office.
Meanwhile, LTO-Bacolod is trying to work out its internet connection for their new facility as it would be vital for their operation.
The new LTO office sits on provincial government-owned land located in Mansilingan’s Sitio Manayawsayaw.
The facility has a bigger parking space which would enable the local LTO office to impound vehicles, a move which they have been unable to do so for the past few years due to the smaller space at their current office along the city’s Cottage Road.
Once the office moves to its new facility, the provincial government is planning to convert the old facility into a multi-purpose building, possibly the second CyberCentre./DGB, WDJ
