Around 878 evacuees from eight villages in Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City have been given relief assistance due to floods caused by incessant rains generated by the combination of the shear line and a low pressure area.
Merle Garcia, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office head, said the city had the highest number of families in the province affected by flooding last week.
Garcia said among the relief supplies they sent to the evacuees include food and non-food items, as well as hygiene kits.
The affected families have since been allowed to return home after weather conditions improved over the weekend./DGB, WDJ
