At least eight individuals are facing charges for alleged illegal gambling in Negros Occidental’s La Carlota City.

City police said four of them were apprehended and taken to the local police station for custody while the rest remained at large.

Those arrested were April Joy Angeles, Mary Grace Modesto, Faith Joy Pacamo, and Anifeb Decendario.

A certain Ging-ging Opada, alias “Tigas Gemina,” and alias “Joanne” escaped during the operation, police said.

An operation was conducted against all forms of illegal gambling when they spotted the suspects playing tong-its and bet game in the afternoon of Thursday, January 12.
