The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Bacolod City will strictly adhere to start impounding vehicles as soon as they move to their new office in the city’s Barangay Mansilingan.

LTO-Bacolod chief Renato Novero admitted that due to lack of space at their current office on the city’s Cottage Road, they were unable to impound vehicles of traffic violators.

Novero said their new office has a larger impounding area and parking space.

Earlier, he said that they are not yet ready to move to the new facility as they are concerned about the area’s security as it is located somewhat in a remote area.

The new LTO-Bacolod office, located in Mansilingan’s Manayaosayao sub-village, is already 90 percent complete and is expected to be inaugurated this month.

A total of P33.34 million was spent on the construction of the new LTO building.

Negros Occidental provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said the old LTO building will be converted into a multi-purpose building, possibly the CyberCentre 2./DGB, WDJ
