Firecracker-related injuries reported in Negros Occidental have increased to 14, according to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO).

Lt. Judesses Catalogo, NOCPPO spokesperson, said they recorded two firecracker-related injuries in the cities of Cadiz, Kabankalan and Bago.

The towns of E.B. Magalona, Hinoba-an, Valladolid, Binalbagan, Candoni, and Isabela, and the cities of Sagay and Victorias reported one case each.

Catalogo said they still haven’t received any reports of stray bullets, and those who were injured due to firecrackers have since returned home to recover.

They have also confiscated a total of 70 boga (improvised polyvinyl chloride pipe cannon) in the province prior and during the New Year revelry.

Catalogo said the province’s celebration of the New Year was peaceful./DGB, WDJ
