A tractor driver was found dead in a shallow grave in a sugarcane field at Barangay Alianza in Negros Occidental’s Bago City on Sunday afternoon, December 18.
Police identified the fatality as 42-year-old Boddy Custodio, a resident of Purok Kalubihan in the city’s Barangay Bacong.
Police Major Ronald Santillan said Custodio was allegedly hacked to death by two individuals last December 14.
The two were also laborers at the sugarcane field.
Based on a statement given by Custodio’s son to Bago City police, a commotion erupted after the two allegedly threw insults at his wife.
He also claimed that they allegedly peeked at his wife while she was inside the toilet.
On December 14, they were chased by the suspects.
As they were chased, Boddy and his son decided to split up, with the latter heading to his in-law’s home.
His father was missing until his remains were found already in an advanced state of decomposition on Sunday.
Bago City police are still trying to identify the two suspects, both of whom are residents of Isabela town./DGB, WDJ
