The Negros Occidental Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) is expecting an increase in the prices of pork and chicken in the province.
PVO head Dr. Placeda Lemana said, based on their price monitoring, pork is being sold from P240 to P260 per kilogram.
However, it is sold at P280 in some towns in the province.
Meanwhile, the price of dressed chicken has increased by P5 per kilo, while egg prices have increased by P0.25 each.
The price of lechon (roasted pig) is now pegged from P7,000 to P8,000.
Present lechon prices are also close to the estimates given by lechon sellers in Bacolod City last week./DGB, WDJ
